Hey! So Glad You're Here.

One of my favorite quotes says: “Productivity is for robots. What humans are going to be really good at is asking questions, being creative, and experiences.”  - Kevin Kelly

Reading books and learning new things bit by bit every day, I have two questions that are ever lingering in my mind. One of them is this: ‘How would my life look like had I been born in a different era?’ None of us can choose what era, place, ethnicity, and culture we are born into. Be that as it may, with the composite unity of being human, we share a great deal in common. Joy, anguish, frustration, fear, amusement, brokenness. From prehistoric times till today, we have been constantly seeking answers to questions that life throws at us.

Having said this, my second question is this: “If I had known then what I know now, how would my life have been different?” Situations that leave long shadows of regret make us wish for a ‘undo’ or a ‘redo’, like Ctrl+Z shortcut. It almost feels unfair that we get to live life only once without any prior knowledge about it. There are quite many things that I earnestly wish my younger self had known. Then, naturally, it makes me wonder how I can go ahead of myself to reduce future regrets.

Standing on the shoulders of giants.

Learning is a humbling journey. My life is so fragile and dull yet I can legitimately grasp the wisdom of the intellectuals around the world, throughout history, and use them to brighten my life. I believe that should I commit to enlightening myself diligently, someday in the future, I might too produce a fruit that will be beneficial to other people.

Going back to the quote that I shared in the beginning, please allow me to add my own addendum: “Productivity is for robots. What humans are going to be really good at is asking questions, being creative, and experiences. And that will make the robots more productive.”
